On Monday I received the BEST surprise. My cousin Kathryn called me and told me that she was tagging along on her husband Mark's business trip to D.C. and she wanted to know if we could meet for lunch. Of course I said YES! I have lived away from most of my family for so long that I get so excited to see any and all relatives. (This will stand as an open invitation to all of my relatives: COME VISIT!) It is crazy to think that Kathryn and Mark by vicinity are some of my closest relatives and I would only have to drive through 5 different states to get to them. (Kathryn and Mark live in New York.) I really wish I could have played hookie and played with Kathryn all day but at least we got to go to lunch. I dragged Kathryn to Teaism because what else was I going to do with a willing participant?! We ate chicken bento boxes and had a wonderful time. Before lunch we walked the extra block to take a picture in front of the White House.
