On Sunday, across the street from the Chevy Chase Chapel was this little lemonade stand. The sign said Lemonade for Obama. No matter your political affiliation, I thought it was so cute that these kids wanted to be involved in the political discussion. When I asked them why they wanted Obama, they said that they wanted the troops out of Iraq. (good reason) Anyway, I bought some lemonade for $1.00 and then I asked them if they knew who Senator Harry Reid was. They said, "No." and I explained to them that he was the Majority Leader of the Senate and he was probably in the building across the street from them. (As some of you might remember, Senator Reid attends a ward in my stake). The boys then told me that would explain the Secret Service men who were with Senator Reid when he came and talked to them. I thought it was cute that these two kids in Chevy Chase, Maryland had a lemonade stand for Obama and the Senate Majority Leader showed up. Only in the Washington, D.C. area.
